Overview: 

Aaron is a senior practitioner in the Wills & Estates group of McLeod Law. He has a focus in the areas of wills, estate administration and estate litigation, and Represented Adult law. Aaron’s estate planning practice encompasses personal and business succession planning, inter vivos trusts, and planning for incapacity. In his estate administration practice, he represents executors, beneficiaries and claimants.

Aaron also assists clients with complex cases involving capacity, Powers of Attorney/Personal Directives and Trusteeship/Guardianship issues. 

In addition to the forgoing, Aaron also practices in the areas of real estate and corporate law.

Professional Experience

  • Representing clients at both the Provincial Court (Civil) and the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench for various estate, Represented Adult and civil litigation matters
  • Preparation of wills, enduring powers of attorney and personal directives
  • Preparation of all documentation required for the administration and probate of estates
  • Preparation of all documentation required in Represented Adult matters
  • Preparation of documentation required in corporate transactions, including (but not limited to) incorporations, share issuances, purchase/sale of a business (asset and share), borrowing, lending, leasing, contract drafting and review, unanimous shareholders agreements, and succession planning
  • Preparation of all documentation required in residential real estate purchase and sale transactions, including mortgage documentation

Aaron is a renowned "trout whisperer" and can often be found in or on the banks of Southern Alberta's rivers and streams. If he is not on the water, you can find him on many local fairways and greens, or camped in the middle of nowhere with his wife and kids.
